Description
A beautiful Olde Worlde Cottage forming part of a converted 17th Century mill located on beckside at the base of Gunnerside Ghyll. With beamed ceilings, and a wood burning stove. Set in a courtyard with a large summer house and private garden. Gunnerside is set in one of the most picturesque Dales of North Yorkshire, an area famous for its breathtaking scenery and beautiful walks. The lounge features a large Inglenook fireplace with a large wood burning stove and logs and Coal are supplied for the fire. The cottage is also centrally heated making it ideal year round, so that even on those cooler evenings you will be warm and comfortable.
The cottage is full of charm and character right down to the stone flagged floor in the kitchen, and yet has most mod-cons for your comfort.
The garden is South facing and is very peaceful it has garden furniture and you also have use of the large Summerhouse which has a dining table and seating.
We would however like to point out that the property has a flight of stairs leading to the twin bedroom which is not entirely suitable for those with mobility problems or extremely young children.
Gunnerside is a village in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the B6270 road, and approximately 25 miles west from the county town of Northallerton. The village lies between the River Swale and its tributary, Gunnerside Beck, in the Swaledale part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Gunnerside has a working smithy/museum.At the foot of Gunnerside Ghyll is the Kings Head public house. At the south of the village is the Grade II listed 1830s Gunnerside New Bridge over the River Swale.A walkers paradise.
We and the surrounding area have lots to offer and we are sure that you will enjoy the cottage and area as much as we do, and we look forward to welcoming you for your next holiday. |

Sometimes given the nickname of “God’s Own County” thanks to its lush green countryside and wild expanses of moor land, Yorkshire is the largest county in England. It is home to over 800 attractions, from breweries to museums, castles to zoos, and World Heritage Sites to breathtaking rides. There are many popular seaside resorts along its coastline, including Whitby, Bridlington and Scarborough, as well as quieter villages and working harbours nestled among the rugged cliffs. The North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and part of the Peak District National Park offer wonderful opportunities for walkers, cyclists and climbers, as well as nature reserves for bird spotters and naturalists. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway carries more passengers than any other heritage railway in the UK and the National Railway Museum is to be found in the county capital city, York.
